AI Companion
A compact desk companion that listens to voice commands, responds through its speaker, and moves its head using two servos.

I design parts and assemblies in SolidWorks and Fusion 360, build physical hardware, integrate electronics and embedded systems, and use AI-assisted development to implement, test, and debug firmware for my prototypes.

The projects here go beyond CAD. I design the mechanical parts, build the hardware, wire the electronics, integrate the firmware, and test the finished system until it works as a physical prototype.
A compact AI-powered desk companion built around an ESP32-S3. It captures voice through a microphone, connects to a real-time AI service over Wi-Fi, plays responses through its speaker, and uses two servos to move the head.

A functional phone prototype assembled from separate GSM, display, and control modules. I connected the modules into a working system and made a real phone call from the prototype.

A Wi-Fi-controlled switch built around an ESP32-C3. It lets me control a regular wall switch from a phone while keeping the electronics hidden behind the existing switch.

A six-axis 3D-printed robotic arm based on an existing design. I used the build to investigate why the servos were failing and understand the mechanical and load-related problems in the system.

A roller-follower cam designed from a required motion profile and modelled in SolidWorks.

A small interactive desk robot with animated eyes and touch interaction. It changes its expression when touched and was designed and built as a rapid prototype.

A compact one-handed Bluetooth controller with a joystick, four buttons, and a clickable joystick. It was designed as a single-hand interface for phones, laptops, and TVs.

A compact planetary gearbox designed to reduce speed and increase torque for small motor-driven applications.

A complete wheel suspension assembly modelled in CAD, including the hub, upper and lower control arms, and an integrated damper.
Explore project →Hi, I’m Ayodeji.
I’m a mechanical engineering graduate who enjoys building things that combine mechanical design, electronics, and embedded systems. Most of my projects start with a problem or an idea, then move into CAD before becoming something I can physically build and test.
I have spent more than four years designing in SolidWorks, and I also use Fusion 360. That work covers individual parts, full assemblies, mechanisms such as gear trains and linkages, and the enclosures that hold electronics. Designing for a real build changes how I model: I think about clearances, how parts go together, where the wiring runs, and what will fail under load.
From CAD I move into the hardware itself. I fabricate the parts, wire the electronics, and integrate microcontrollers such as the ESP32 and Arduino with motors, displays, audio and sensors. For firmware I use AI-assisted development to implement features, then test and debug them on the physical device until the whole system behaves the way it should.
What I care about most is the complete system working, not just a model that looks right on screen. A lot of my time goes into testing and troubleshooting: finding out whether a problem is mechanical, electrical or in the firmware, and fixing it at the source.
