Wheel Suspension Assembly
A complete wheel suspension assembly modelled in CAD, including the hub, upper and lower control arms, and an integrated damper.

Overview
A wheel suspension assembly designed from scratch in SolidWorks, with hubs, upper and lower control arms and integrated dampers, modelled as a complete axle with both wheels.
I designed it to show a full mechanical assembly: parts that have to move together through their range without interfering.
- Upper and lower control arms
- Integrated dampers
- Hubs designed with the assembly
- Complete axle with both wheels
How it works
The control arms locate each hub and the dampers control how it moves.
A motion study checks each wheel through its travel so the arms never foul each other or the chassis.
Challenges
Built to demonstrate the mechanism rather than to be manufactured. The arm lengths and pivot positions decide how the whole corner behaves, so most of the time went into getting those right.
